The Keno Fire Mobile Command Unit is a resource available to aid in the management of large incidents, such as wildfires and floods.  It is available as mutual aid response throughout Klamath County, and is also available to incident management teams around the nation through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management.  The funding for the startup costs of designing and obtaining the Mobile Command Unit (MCU) was provided by a Klamath County Title III grant, knowing that it would be a valuable resource and would give back to the community.  We have used the MCU at several large training drills in the county, including a mock mass casualty incident.  The MCU has also been used at several fires in Klamath and Lake counties and at larger fires throughout the region, as well as at the flooding in Vernonia in 2007.
