Since responders are not actually scheduled to work any specific hours at a volunteer fire department, one of the challenges is that you don't always know who is available to respond to an incident and who isn't.  We have addressed this issue by implementing the Firefighter Response System, which allows tracking of available resources and the ability to see who is responding immediately after an incident has been dispatched.  Simply set your status as available or not available online, and when an incident is toned out, use your cell phone to indicate that you are responding.
